Scaramouche

SYNOPSIS

Scaramouche, a great musical comedy of adventure, love and revolution! Year 1789, the people of France starve and are punished by an authoritarian and unjust nobility. French citizens, upset with this situation, begin to consider a need for change. Our story focuses on the life of two twin brothers separated from childhood: René and Louis. René is a very talented mug who lives in a Comedia de’ll Arte theater company and is the lover of Camila, a young actress of extraordinary beauty and sensuality. On the other hand, we find Louis who was adopted by the Marquis de l’Echalonne and who is an intellectual who is in charge of the palace library and lives in love with Olympia (who is the Marquis’s fiancee). The characters make a trip to Paris where their destinations meet: Olympia will marry the Marquis in Versailles, the traveling company will present its show at the Italian Theater and the people will achieve their freedom, equality and fraternity when the Bastille is taken. In this context of revolt and change, Scaramouche, a masked hero, will be the defender of the people who will write revolutionary pamphlets and confront the aristocracy, giving hope to the whole world.

The disc contains the songs of the musical live.
