SYNOPSIS

The Palau de la Música presents the legendary musical by Stephen Sondheim, “Sweeney Todd,” in Concert.
“Sweeney Todd” tells the dark and macabre story of Benjamin Barker, a barber unjustly convicted, who returns to London under the alias of Sweeney Todd. Thirsty for revenge, he seeks to exact justice upon those who ruined his life and took away his wife and daughter.

With the help of Mrs. Lovett, a cunning and enterprising pie maker, Sweeney Todd begins to carry out his sinister plan. His barbershop becomes the stage for his cruel murders, and the corpses are transformed into filling for the meat pies that Mrs. Lovett sells in her shop.

The plot unfolds amidst bloody murders, intrigue, and dark secrets, as Sweeney Todd becomes increasingly obsessed with his quest for vengeance. However, his thirst for justice is threatened when Judge Turpin, the man responsible for his misfortune, becomes obsessed with the young and beautiful Johanna, Sweeney Todd’s daughter, and plans to marry her despite her repulsion.
